Sarah Atlas

Sarah is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and co-owner of Nutrition Aligned. Sarah’s desire to become a Registered Dietitian was originally inspired by her own experiences going through major hip surgeries to correct sports injuries from growing up a competitive runner and soccer player. Through this experience, she saw firsthand the crucial role that proper nourishment had in sports injury recovery and prevention as well as life in general.

Since becoming a Registered Dietitian, Sarah has absolutely loved being able to help others achieve health goals through diet and lifestyle changes. Her philosophy focuses on small changes that add up over time to create sustainable, long-term success. Over the past few years, she has helped many patients with several conditions achieve success and loves getting updates from her patients about their wins – big and small! Sarah’s previous patients have described her as “inspiring” “empathetic” and “able to meet me where I’m at” and have found nutritional alignment by working with her.

Sarah also has a huge passion for helping those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image issues to break free and live their lives to the fullest. She is currently working toward her CEDS (Certified Eating Disorder Specialist) Certification and continues to go through extensive training in the field of eating disorders. Over the past few years, she has helped many patients achieve recovery.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Colorado State University and then attended Arizona State University to earn her degree in nutrition. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for her dietetic internship. In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking or really anything active/outdoors, laughing with family and friends, and playing with her kittens (Lilly and Nugget) and dog (Wrigley).

Leanne Nieto

Michelle Leanne Nieto is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, licensed in the state of Nevada and co-owner of Nutrition Aligned. Leanne obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduating cum laude and completing a dietetic internship at the VA Southern NV Healthcare. Leanne has five and half years of experience as a clinical and outpatient dietitian.

Leanne’s philosophy is to help her patients make practical nutrition goals that fit their lifestyle leading to long-term success.

Leanne’s patients would describe her as compassionate, understanding, caring & practical. One of her patients described her as “…it really seems like she cares about her patients, this is not just a job to her, but it’s what she loves to do and that is to help people maintain a better eating lifestyle.”

Besides Leanne’s enormous compassion for her patients, she also enjoys exercising, listening to music, and singing. But most gratifying is her love for laughter, making others laugh, not taking life too seriously, and giving back to the community through her vast knowledge of nutrition.

Marissa is a Registered Dietitian and is licensed in the state of Nevada. Marissa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Pepperdine University, her Master of Science in Clinical & Preventative Nutrition from Rutger’s University, completed her dietetic internship at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is now in the final semester of her PhD in Sports Nutrition at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Marissa’s passion for nutrition stemmed from her career as a Division I swimmer in college. As she navigated being away from home for the first time and taking nutrition classes in school, it became apparent how much diet alone improved her performance, mood, and health, and decreased her number of injuries. She would constantly find herself saying “if only I had known this sooner!” from that point on it became her goal to help others learn the benefits of a healthy lifestyle so that they too could feel better, both physically and mentally.

Marissa decided to pursue her doctoral degree to stay up to date on current research in nutrition. She hopes that this will allow her to provide the best possible care to her patients, and to be able to educate patients as best as possible, no matter what questions or concerns they bring to the table. Marissa’s experience has largely been in sports thus far, with her being involved with UNLV NCAA athletes, as well as experiences working with the Vegas Golden Knights. Through these experiences, she has found a unique passion for athletes or active individuals who struggle with adequately fueling themselves. However, Marissa also has experience with numerous clinical conditions and diagnoses and loves to talk food and nutrition to anybody who wants to learn or make a lifestyle change!

At the heart of Marissa’s nutrition philosophy is “all foods fit”. All foods provide us with some sort of nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle is simply finding the balance between different foods to fit our specific needs. Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all, and Marissa loves getting to the heart of someone’s goals to best tailor individualized goals and education for each patient. She truly wants to get to know each and every person who steps into her office and creates a welcoming environment.

Marissa is an avid baker and runner (true to her philosophy of balance) and loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, son, and dog. She doesn’t like to sit still, and weekends usually consist of day trips to nearby National Parks or visiting family!
